Today, we are thrilled to release our latest Annual Report to the community under the banner, “Now more than ever.”
As the 17-page report makes clear, now is the time to take action. While the pandemic rages on, and our economy reopens in fits and starts, now is the time to accelerate our ability to make change collectively.
Community Action is a partnership organization with a 57-year history of impact in northwest Florida. We are part of a robust network that gets better every day, advocating for the eradication of poverty in America.
Our team of nearly 200 full- and part-time staff stands ready to break the cycle of poverty that affects nearly 1 in 2 children of color in our community. Here’s how:
- We serve 2,000 children and families every day on their path to success and stability. We exist to ensure the school readiness and life preparedness of children and the adults who love them through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
- CAPC saturates Escambia County with targeted programs that make people’s lives better.
- Homeowners reduce their monthly utility bills because of CAPC’s ongoing efforts to weatherize homes against the elements.
- Volunteers and community partners are the lifeblood of Community Action. Locally, we lock arms with dozens of agencies every month who offer programs and services that enrich our classrooms and CAPC culture of excellence.
