What is the Housing Department?

Weatherization Assistance Program

The CAP Weatherization Assistance Program assists income eligible families and individuals by reducing their heating and cooling costs and addressing health and safety issues in their homes through energy efficiency measures. .Our department assists customers in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Holmes, Jackson, Walton, and Washington counties. The Weatherization Assistance Program conducts an energy audit of your home to identify specific measures to increase energy efficiency. Based on the results of the energy audit, services provided may include, but are not limited to, providing insulation for your home, caulking and weather-stripping around windows and doorframes, addressing ventilation systems, diagnostic testing on the A/C system with minor repair, and installation of energy-efficient lighting.
