SUMMARY: Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the Cook is responsible for assisting in the
preparation and delivery of meals to Head Start centers. Preparation of food, maintaining
sanitation, storing of food and delivery of meals to classrooms are among the major
responsibilities of this position.

COOK (Full-Time position)
Salary: $11.60 per hour

FLSA Classification: non-exempt                            40 hours per week / 40 weeks per year

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: A High School diploma or GED. One year of food prep
experience and ServSafe credential preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Applicantsmust have a current Florida Driver’s license, reliable
transportation, satisfactory criminal records check for abuse and neglect, negative TB skin
test, drug testing as required and state required minimum vehicle insurance and uninsured
motorist insurance. Applicants must meet all Department of Children and Families
requirements for employment andmust be able to successfully complete the forty-hour child
care class.

PHSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires the employee to be in a standing position for
the majority of the work hours. The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Reasonable
