Salary: $15.00 per hour / 40 hours per week / 44 weeks per year / Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt – Benefits Eligible

Overview: Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of meals to Head Start centers. Preparation of food, maintaining sanitation, storing of food, and delivery of meals to classrooms are among the major responsibilities of this position.

Education / Experience: A High School diploma or GED. One year of food prep experience and ServSafe credential required or obtained within six months of employment.

Other Qualification: Applicants must have a current Florida Driver’s license, reliable transportation, state-required minimum vehicle insurance, and uninsured motorist insurance. Applicants must meet all Department of Children and Families requirements for employment.

Physical Demands: This position requires the employee to be in a standing position for the majority of the work hours. The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
