Dental Support Specialist

Position Summary: Reporting to the Social Services Manager, the Dental Support Specialist performs duties and
work assignments with minimal supervision and assists the Health Team, Education Staff, and Social
Services staff in meeting dental and office support needs of the department. Additionally, the Dental
Support Specialist implements all aspects of dental services to include recruitment of dentists for the
agency. Also, Liaison between CAPC and dental providers. Submission of accurate paperwork to dental
providers (timely manner) Tracks insured and uninsured children

Dental Support Specialist

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of two (2) years of office
experience and exceptional organization, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. An Associate’s degree
in office administration, Human Services, or related field preferred.

Other Qualifications / Duties:

  • Track Exams
  • Referrals for sedation to work with parent and oral surgeon
  • Work with Social Services advocates to arrange permission forms and dental packets for each
    child per SSA’s caseload
  • Scheduling the coordination of Dental Van services
  • Child Plus Input (events, actions, case-notes)
  • Run reports
  • 90- day HSPP Compliance (daily)
  • Monitoring and tracking new, absent, and UTC (unable to cooperate) children
  • Dental Training with new Advocates
  • Assist with scheduling dental training for parents
  • Ability to use word processing software, database management system, e-mail and internet.
