the national poverty level. Preference is given to owner-occupied,
elderly (60 years plus), physically disabled, families with children
under 12.

MISSION
The mission of both
programs are to reduce heating and cooling costs by improving the
energy efficiency of the home.
TYPES OF ASSISTANCE PROVIDED

Repair or replace
inefficient heating and cooling units
-
Address air
infiltration-weather stripping, caulking, thresholds, minor wall,
ceiling and floor repairs, windows and door replacement.

Install attic and floor
insulation.

Repair or replace water
heaters.

Install solar screens.
-
Apply solar reflective
coating to manufactured homes.

Install attic insulation.

WEATHERIZATION FACTS:
Low-income families pay an average of 18 per cent of their annual
income for energy, compared with 3.5 per cent for other households.
The average energy expenditure in low-income households is
$1,267.00 annually (pre-energy crisis).
It is estimated that weatherization services save the client an
average of $358.00 annually.
This program
serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County residents.
